Banana Sushi
A banana wrapped in soft bread and cheese, then cut into little rounds that really do look like sushi. A whole snack a child can make almost alone.
What you need
- Sliced soft bread
- Curd cheese, cream cheese or peanut butter
- Banana
- Honey or jam
- Coconut flakes or crushed oats
- A table knife
- A rolling pin
How to play
- Let your child flatten two slices of bread with a rolling pin until they are thin and wide.
- Spread soft cheese over the bread and drizzle a thin line of honey down the middle.
- Peel the banana and lay it along one edge of the bread.
- Roll the bread tightly around the banana and press the seam shut with your fingers.
- Let your child cut the roll into thick rounds with a table knife, sawing slowly rather than pressing hard.
- Roll the edges of each round in coconut flakes and lay them out on a small plate.
