A Ladder of Leaves
Collect ten fallen leaves and lay them out from smallest to biggest. Fitting a new leaf into the middle of the row is much harder than it looks, and that is the whole game.
What you need
- Ten fallen leaves
- A bench, a flat stone or a tree stump
- A bag for carrying them
How to play
- Collect ten fallen leaves of clearly different sizes on your walk.
- Sit down at a bench or a flat stone and spread them all out.
- Lay the smallest leaf on the left and the biggest on the right.
- Fit every other leaf into the row where it belongs.
- Look for one more leaf on the way home that is bigger than all of them.
- Leave the ladder on the bench for the next person to find.
