One Branch All Year
Tie a thread around one branch and draw it every week on the same sheet. Ten minutes a week, and by spring you have a row of drawings that shows the exact week everything changed.
What you need
- A sheet of paper
- A pencil
- A scrap of wool or thread
- One tree you pass every week
How to play
- Choose one branch on a tree you walk past every week and tie a scrap of wool around it.
- Draw the branch today with every bud in its place.
- Come back a week later and draw it again beside the first drawing.
- Write the date under each drawing.
- Keep the sheet by the door and add a drawing on the same day each week.
- Look at the whole row after two months and find the week when everything changed.
