A Sky Made With a Sponge
An old kitchen sponge torn into pieces beats any brush for clouds: you dab instead of stroking, and the edges come out soft. The paper is big, so the whole body joins in.
What you need
- An old kitchen sponge
- Paints you already have
- A big sheet of paper or wallpaper offcut
- A saucer
- Tape
How to play
- Tear an old kitchen sponge into three rough pieces.
- Tape a big sheet of paper to the floor and put a saucer of paint beside it.
- Dip a sponge, squeeze out the extra paint and dab clouds along the top of the paper.
- Give each sponge piece its own colour so they stay separate.
- Dab a green strip along the bottom for grass and a yellow blob for the sun.
- Leave the sky to dry flat and hang it in the hallway.
