Grated carrot becomes a path, broccoli becomes trees and cucumber rounds become a pond. Your child builds a whole garden and then eats it row by row.

What you need

  • Carrot
  • Broccoli or a bunch of dill
  • Cucumber
  • Cherry tomatoes
  • Curd cheese or sour cream
  • A large flat plate

How to play

  1. Grate the carrot and slice the cucumber and tomatoes yourself, then put each one in its own bowl.
  2. Let your child spread curd cheese over the whole plate as the ground.
  3. Ask them to lay a winding path of grated carrot across the garden.
  4. Press broccoli florets or dill sprigs in along the path as trees and bushes.
  5. Build a pond from cucumber rounds and a flower bed from halved tomatoes.
  6. Let your child tell you who lives in this garden before you eat it together.
