Ice Decorations on a Branch
A loop of string, berries and leaves go into a jar lid, water goes on top and the lid goes out into the frost. In the morning clear medallions are hanging on the bare branch outside the window.
What you need
- Jar lids or small bowls
- Water
- String
- Rowan berries, leaves and twigs
How to play
- Lay a loop of string in each lid so both ends hang over the edge.
- Arrange rowan berries, small leaves and twigs around the string.
- Pour in just enough water to cover everything.
- Leave the lids outside overnight in the frost, or in the freezer if it is mild.
- Press the ice discs out of the lids in the morning.
- Tie the discs to a bare branch by the window and look through them towards the light.
