A House From a Big Box
The box the new appliance came in is a house, not rubbish. The child decides where the door and windows go, the adult does the cutting, and by evening there is new living space in the hallway.
What you need
- A big cardboard box
- A craft knife for the adult
- Tape
- Markers
How to play
- Stand the biggest box you have on the floor and open the top flaps.
- Let your child mark with a marker where the door and the windows should be.
- Cut the door and windows yourself — cardboard is too tough for children's scissors.
- Fold the top flaps together and tape them into a roof.
- Let your child draw bricks, a doorbell and curtains on the walls.
- Carry in a cushion and a torch and check whether it is comfortable enough to read in there.
