A fingertip is the only stamp you need: press a dot, add legs with a pencil, and it is a beetle. A thumb makes a bear, a little finger makes a mouse.

What you need

  • Paints you already have
  • A saucer or an old plate
  • Paper
  • A pencil
  • A damp cloth

How to play

  1. Squeeze two or three blobs of paint onto a saucer.
  2. Press a fingertip into the paint and stamp a row of dots across the paper.
  3. Turn the dots into animals with a pencil: legs, ears, tails and whiskers.
  4. Use a thumb for big bodies and a little finger for small heads.
  5. Wipe hands on the damp cloth before starting the next colour.
  6. Leave the zoo to dry flat and count how many animals live there.
