Catch the Falling Strip
A paper strip dropped between two open fingers is a real reaction test. Your child notices that a few tries make the catch faster, and talking at the same time makes it slower.
What you need
- Strip of paper or an old ticket
- Pen
- Small sheet for the scores
How to play
- Fold a long paper strip and mark lines on it a finger apart.
- Hold the strip by the top while your child keeps two fingers open around the bottom.
- Let go without warning so your child pinches the strip as fast as possible.
- Write down which line was caught and repeat five times.
- Play again while your child counts backwards out loud and compare the marks.
- Swap places and let your child drop the strip for you.
