Make Water Walk Along Paper
A strip of paper towel becomes a bridge, and cold tea climbs up it and drips into the empty glass all by itself. Your child comes back every ten minutes to check on a journey nobody is pushing.
What you need
- Two glasses
- Strong cold tea
- Paper towel
- A pen or two rubber bands
How to play
- Brew strong tea, let it cool, and fill one glass while the other stays empty.
- Fold a strip of paper towel long enough to reach from one glass into the other.
- Push one end deep into the tea and drop the other end into the empty glass.
- Mark the level in both glasses with a rubber band.
- Come back every ten minutes and watch the dark line creep up the paper.
- Stop when both glasses hold the same amount and talk about the tiny channels inside the paper.
