Chalk Obstacle Course
A piece of chalk turns the yard path into a course of hops, spins and tiptoe steps. Your child draws the rules, and then you both have to obey them.
What you need
- Chalk
- A paved path or a yard
- A stone or a cone as a marker
How to play
- Draw a start line and a finish line about ten steps apart.
- Between them draw stations: circles to jump into, a wavy line to walk along, footprints for hopping on one leg.
- Add one silly station — spin around twice, or growl like a bear.
- Let your child run the course first and fix whatever turned out too easy or too hard.
- Take turns and count each other's time out loud.
- Add a new station after every round until the course fills the whole path.
