Set Up a Cocoa Tasting Bar
Four mugs of cocoa, each with something different in it, and a small tasting contest. The milk is heated and poured by the adult only.
What you need
- Milk
- Cocoa powder
- Sugar
- Honey
- Cinnamon
- A pinch of salt
- Four mugs and teaspoons
How to play
- Line up four mugs and let your child spoon cocoa and sugar into each one.
- Add something different to three of them — cinnamon, a pinch of salt, a spoon of honey — and leave the fourth plain.
- Heat the milk and pour it into the mugs yourself; the pan and the hot milk stay with the adult.
- Let your child stir every mug and wait until the cocoa is warm rather than hot.
- Taste them one after another with a teaspoon and rank them from favourite to strangest.
- Make one big mug of the winner and share it.
