Mash, pour, freeze, wait. The hardest part is the waiting, and the reward is a homemade lolly on a hot afternoon.

What you need

  • Thick yoghurt or kefir
  • Berries
  • A spoon of honey
  • Small plastic cups
  • Wooden sticks or teaspoons
  • A jug

How to play

  1. Let your child mash the berries in a bowl with a fork until they turn juicy.
  2. Stir the mashed berries into the yoghurt together with a spoonful of honey.
  3. Pour the pink mixture into small cups, almost to the top.
  4. Stand a wooden stick upright in the middle of each cup.
  5. Put the cups into the freezer and go and check on them every hour.
  6. Dip the frozen cups into warm water for a moment so the lollies slide straight out.
