Draw What the Music Sounds Like
Put on a song and let the crayon move the way the music moves — slow loops for quiet parts, sharp jabs for loud ones. There is nothing to get right, so even a three-year-old is instantly good at it.
What you need
- A big sheet of paper
- Wax crayons or coloured pencils
- Any music you have
How to play
- Spread a big sheet of paper on the floor and put out a few colours.
- Play something slow and quiet and let the crayon wander in lazy loops.
- Switch to something fast and loud so the marks turn sharp and jumpy.
- Stop the music and ask which part of the paper looks loud.
- Play one last song and fill up the empty corners.
