Leaf Rubbing Gallery
Hide a leaf under a sheet of paper, rub a crayon over the top and every vein appears by itself. Even a three-year-old can do the rubbing while you hold the paper still.
What you need
- Thin paper
- Wax crayons or a soft pencil
- Leaves picked up outside
- Tape
How to play
- Collect a handful of flat leaves on the way home.
- Peel the wrapper off a crayon so your child can rub with its side.
- Put a leaf vein side up on the table and cover it with paper.
- Hold the paper steady and let your child rub the crayon over the leaf.
- Change the leaf and the colour until the whole sheet is full.
- Tape the finished gallery to the fridge door.
