A Mould Farm Behind Glass
Two sealed jars with a piece of bread, one damp and one dry, become a week-long experiment about what mould needs. The jars stay shut the whole time.
What you need
- Two clean jars with lids
- Two pieces of bread
- A few drops of water
- Sticky tape
- Notebook and pencil
How to play
- Put one piece of bread into each jar.
- Drop a little water on one piece and leave the other dry.
- Screw the lids on tightly and tape them shut so nobody opens them.
- Stand one jar in a dark cupboard and the other on a bright shelf.
- Draw what is happening in each jar every day for a week.
- Throw both jars away yourself after the week, without opening them.
