Five folds and the plane is ready — and then the engineering starts: bend a wing tip, add a paper clip to the nose and find out whether it flies further.

What you need

  • Sheets of A4 paper
  • A coin to mark landings
  • Paper clips

How to play

  1. Fold a sheet in half lengthways and open it out again.
  2. Fold the two top corners in to the centre crease.
  3. Fold the long slanted edges in to the same crease once more.
  4. Fold the whole plane in half and turn down a wing on each side.
  5. Mark a throwing line on the floor with a shoe.
  6. Throw each plane three times and mark its best landing with a coin.
  7. Change one thing on the next plane and test whether it beats the record.
