You look only at the person you are drawing, never at your own paper, and the pencil never leaves the page. The results are terrible, and that is the entire point.

What you need

  • A notebook or any paper
  • A pencil or a pen

How to play

  1. Sit facing each other with a sheet of paper each.
  2. Put the pencil down on the paper and promise not to lift it or peek at it.
  3. Draw the other person for one whole minute, letting your eyes crawl slowly along their outline.
  4. Turn both drawings over at the same moment and compare the disasters.
  5. Play again with a harder rule: thirty seconds only, and still no peeking.
