Two-Colour Playdough From the Cupboard
Flour, salt and a spoon of oil make dough in five minutes, and the kitchen colours it: cocoa for brown, turmeric for yellow. Making it is half the activity, squashing it is the other half.
What you need
- 2 cups of flour
- Half a cup of salt
- A spoon of oil
- Warm water
- Cocoa and turmeric
- A bowl
- A jar with a lid
How to play
- Mix two cups of flour, half a cup of salt and a spoon of oil in a bowl.
- Add warm water a little at a time and knead until the dough is soft and no longer sticky.
- Split the dough into two lumps.
- Knead a spoon of cocoa into one lump and a pinch of turmeric into the other.
- Let your child roll, squash and stack the two colours into snails, snakes and stripes.
- Put the dough in a jar with a lid so it is ready for next week.
