Magnet Treasure Hunt
A fridge magnet becomes a metal detector. Your child walks around the home testing spoons, keys, buttons and toys, then sorts them into a pile that sticks and a pile that does not.
What you need
- Fridge magnet
- Basket or box
- Small household objects: spoon, key, coin, plastic lid, wooden spoon
How to play
- Give your child the magnet and a basket for the finds.
- Collect ten different objects from around the home into the basket.
- Touch every object with the magnet and sort them into two piles.
- Ask your child to guess before each test whether the object will stick.
- Look at the sticking pile together and find what all those objects have in common.
