Self-Portrait in the Mirror
Drawing yourself while actually looking in a mirror is very different from drawing yourself from memory. Date it and hide it in a drawer — next year's one will be worth comparing.
What you need
- A hand mirror or a small mirror
- A sheet of paper
- A pencil
- Coloured pencils
How to play
- Prop the mirror against a stack of books so it stands up on its own.
- Look for one thing about yourself you have never noticed before and start there.
- Draw the outline of your head first and make it fill almost the whole sheet.
- Count the eyebrows, eyelashes and freckles in the mirror and put every one of them in.
- Add the things that belong only to you: a scar, a hair clip, a missing tooth.
- Write the date in the corner and keep the drawing until next year.
