Invent Three Dips

Cooking

  • at home

One base of yoghurt or curd cheese, three different additions, three completely different tastes. Your child mixes, names them and runs the tasting.

What you need

  • Thick yoghurt, sour cream or curd cheese
  • Dill and salt
  • Honey or jam
  • Ketchup or tomato paste
  • Carrot, cucumber and bread for dipping
  • Three small bowls
  • Teaspoons

How to play

  1. Cut the vegetables and bread into dipping sticks yourself while your child sets out three bowls.
  2. Spoon the same amount of yoghurt into each bowl so the tasting is fair.
  3. Let your child stir chopped dill and a pinch of salt into the first bowl.
  4. Stir honey into the second and ketchup into the third, tasting after every spoonful added.
  5. Ask your child to invent a name for each dip and write it on a folded paper card.
  6. Dip a stick of carrot into all three and vote for the family favourite.
